Girl With Landscape In Wool

Raw sheepskin forms the starting point of my work. Through an ancient process, wool from rare and nearly forgotten sheep breeds is transformed into sculptural wall pieces.

I explore the tension between surface and relief, allowing material, texture, and tone to shape the work. Wool’s inherent richness generates depth, movement, and a quiet sense of presence.

Landscapes in Wool are not depictions of specific sites, but material journeys — carrying the memory of place, origin, and breed, from the Hungarian Racka to the Afghan Karakul and the Russian Romanov.

In my work, I explore the relationship between drawing, painting, and textiles as carriers of meaning. Loose, narrative drawings in pen, ink, and watercolor form the starting point and are applied to coarsely prepared linen or cotton. By incorporating threads, fabric, and stitching, and combining different types of paint, a layered image emerges in which material and gesture become an essential part of the work’s expressive power.
